INVOCATION TO ST. MICHAEL...An Exorcism

In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit Amen.

Most glorious Prince of the Celestial army, Archangel St. Michael, defend us in the battle against the powers of darkness and their spiritual maliciousness. Come to our aid, who were created by God and redeemed with the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, and deliver us from the tyranny of the devil. You are venerated by the Church as its Patron and Guardian and to you, the Lord has entrusted the souls who one day will occupy the heavenly mansions. Pray, therefore, the God of Peace, to keep the devil crushed under our feet, so that he won't be able to enslave men unto himself and neither cause any harm to the Church.
Unite our prayers to Thine own and present them to Almighty God, so that His divine mercies may descend upon us. Chain Satan and thrust him into the bottomless pit, whence he won't be able to seduce souls anymore.

Exorcism

In the name of Jesus Christ, our God and Lord and with the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of St. Michael Archangel, the holy apostles Peter and Paul and all the Saints, we confidently undertake the battle against the attacks and snares of the devil.
Psalm (To be recited standing and at the indication + should be made the sign of the cross).
May the Lord arise and His enemies be vanquished and may all those who hate Him, vanish from His presence. As the smoke vanishes and as wax melts in fire, likewise should sinners perish from before His face.

V.) Behold the Cross of the Lord, flee hostile powers.
R.) Has won the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the descendant of David.
V.) May Thy mercy O Lord, descend upon us.
R.) As we haved hoped in Thee.

We impose it upon you to flee, unclean spirit, satanic power, invasion of the infernal enemy, with all your legions, reunions and diabolic sects, in the name and with the authority of Our Lord Jesus + Christ. Be eradicated from the Church of God, driven from souls created in the image of God and redeemed by the precious blood of the Divine Lamb.
From now on do not dare, perfidious serpent, to beguile the human race, persecute the Church of God, to agitate and sift like wheat, God's elect.

Almighty God commands it to you, to Whom, in your great pride, presume to be similar. God the Father + the Son and Holy Spirit commands it to you.

Christ, the eternal Word of God made flesh + commands it to you, Who for the salvation of our progeny lost by your jealousy, "He let be humiliated and made Himself obedient unto death".
The powerful Mother of God, the Virgin Mary + commands it to you, Who from the first instant of her Immaculate Conception, because of her humility, has crushed your proud head.
The blood of the Martyrs and the powerful intercession of all the Saints commands it to you.
Therefore cursed dragon and every diabolical legion, we conjure you by the living + God, by the true + God, by the holy + God: cease too lay snares in the path of God's creatures and toast them the poison of eternal damnation: cease to harm the Church and to put obstacles to its freedom.

Go satan, author and master of deceits, enemy of man's salvation. Surrender the authority to Christ, surrender the authority to the Church which Christ acquired with His blood.
Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, tremble and flee at the invocation which we make of the Holy and terrible name of that Jesus, which makes hell quake, to Whom the Celestial Virtues, Powers and Dominations are subject, Whom the Cherubim and Serafim praise incessantly saying: "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord, the God of the universe".

V.) O Lord hear our prayers.
R.) And let our cry come unto Thee.

O God of Heaven, God of Earth, God of the Angels, God of the Archangels, God of the Patriarchs, God of the Prophets, God of the Apostles, God of the Martyrs, God of the Confessors, God of the Virgins, God Who has the power to bestow life after death and rest after fatigue, since there is no other God beside Thee and neither can it be, eternal Creator of all things visible and invisible, we humbly beseech Thee to free us from every tyranny, snare, deceit and infestation of the infernal enemy and preserve us always from all harm. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Amen.

FATIMA MORNING OFFERING

Sister Lucia, the eldest of the three children to whom Our Lady appeared at Fatima helped write the Fatima Morning Offering. As soon as we awaken, we should give our thoughts to God and consecrate the day to Him by praying the Morning Offering:

O my God, in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary (here kiss the Brown Scapular), I offer Thee the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, joining with it my every thought, word and action of this day. Amen.

ST. GERARD MAJELLA Patron of Childbirth, Children, Falsely Accused People, Fever, Infants, Midwives, Newborn Babies, Obstetricians, & Pregnant Women

St. Gerard Majella, religious, is the patron of expectant mothers. He was born at Muro, Italy, in 1726 and joined the Redemptorists at the age of 23, becoming a professed lay brother in 1752. He served as sacristan, gardener, porter, infirmarian, and tailor. However, because of his great piety, extraordinary wisdom, and his gift of reading consciences, he was permitted to counsel communities of religious women.
This humble servant of God also had the faculties of levitation and bi-location associated with certain mystics. His charity, obedience, and selfless service as well as his ceaseless mortification for Christ, made him the perfect model of lay brothers. He was afflicted with tuberculosis and died in 1755 at the age of twenty-nine.

This great saint is invoked as a patron of expectant mothers as a result of a miracle effected through his prayers for a woman in labor.

ST. PHILOMENA Patron Saint of Virgins and the Youth

In 1802, the remains of a young woman were found in the catacombs of St. Priscilla at the Via Salaria, Italy. It was covered by stones, the symbols on which indicated that the body was a martyr named St. Philomena. The vial containing dry blood (as it was custom to bury a sample of the blood of the martyrs) and the bones were exhumed, catalogued, and effectively forgotten since there was so little known about the person.
(The sample of her blood made her the intercessors of those with blood related problems).

In 1805 Canon Francis de Lucia of Mugnano, Italy was in the Treasury of the Rare Collection of Christian Antiquity (Treasury of Relics) in the Vatican. When he reached the relics of St. Philomena he was suddenly struck with a spiritual joy, and requested that he be allowed to enshrine them in a chapel in Mugnano.

ST. JEAN MARIE VIANNEY Patron Saint of Priests

Jean Baptiste Vianney was born on May 8, 1786, into a peasant family in the village of Dardilly near Lyons in southeastern France. He was a quiet, patient, and deeply religious young man who wanted to become a priest but found it nearly impossible to learn Latin. His life was interrupted when he was drafted into the Frencharmy. On his way to join his assigned unit he stopped in a church to pray. The regiment left for Spain without him, and Jean Baptiste had to hide for two years until he was no longer wanted for the army. In 1811 he entered a seminary. Three years later he was dismissed because he was unable to grasp the theological subtleties he was supposed to study. But the bishop of Grenoble was sufficiently impressed by Vianney's firm character and level-headed judgment to ordain him a priest in 1815. After a three-year testing period, Vianney was assigned to the village of Ars as pastor.

ST. MARTIN DE PORRES Patron Saint of Mexico, black people, hair stylists, innkeepers, mixed-race people, Peru, poor people, public service, social justice and television

St. Martin de Porres was born at Lima, Peru, in 1579. His father was a Spanish gentleman and his mother a colored freed-woman from Panama. At fifteen, he became a lay brother at the Dominican Friary at Lima and spent his whole life there as a barber, farm laborer, and infirmarian among other things. He was in charge of distributing the alms of his convent to the poor and became known throughout the city of Lima for his love and care for the needy.

Martin had a great desire to go off to some foreign mission and thus earn the palm of martyrdom. However, since this was not possible, he made a martyr out of his body, devoting himself to ceaseless and severe penances. In turn, God endowed him with many graces and wondrous gifts, such as, aerial flights and bi-location (this explains why his name is invoked by travelers in long distance flights or voyages in planes or ships).

ST. JUDE THADDEUS Patron Saint of Lost Causes and Desperate Cases

St. Jude, known as Thaddaeus, was a brother of St. James the Less, and a relative of Our Saviour. St. Jude was one of the 12 Apostles of Jesus. Jude was the one who asked Jesus at the Last Supper why He would not manifest Himself to the whole world after His resurrection. Little else is known of his life. Legend claims that he visited Beirut and Edessa; possibly martyred with St. Simon in Persia.
Jude is invoked in desperate situations because his New Testament letter stresses that the faithful should persevere in the environment of harsh, difficult circumstances, just as their forefathers had done before them. Therefore, he is the patron saint of desperate cases and his feast day is October 28. Saint Jude is not the same person as Judas Iscariot who betrayed Our Lord and despaired because of his great sin and lack of trust in God's mercy.

ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA Patron Saint of Lost Things

Nearly everywhere St. Anthony is asked to intercede with God for the return of things lost or stolen. Those who feel very familiar with him may pray, “Tony, Tony, turn around. Something’s lost and must be found.”
The reason for invoking St. Anthony’s help in finding lost or stolen things is traced back to an incident in his own life. As the story goes, Anthony had a book of psalms that was very important to him. Besides the value of any book before the invention of printing, the psalter had the notes and comments he had made to use in teaching students in his Franciscan Order. A novice who had already grown tired of living religious life decided to depart the community. Besides going AWOL he also took Anthony’s psalter! Upon realizing his psalter was missing, Anthony prayed it would be found or returned to him. And after his prayer the thieving novice was moved to return the psalter to Anthony and to return to the Order, which accepted him back.

INFANT JESUS OF PRAGUE

The Infant Jesus of Prague originally came from Spain. The legend tells that the Infant Jesus appeared miraculously to a certain monk, who modelled the statue based on the appearance of the apparition. According to another legend the statue belonged to St. Teresa of Avila, the founder of the Discalced Carmelites, who was aflame with a great love for the Child Jesus. She is said to have given the statue to a friend of hers, whose daughter was setting out to travel to Prague.
When the Duchess Maria Manrique de Lara came to Bohemia to marry a Bohemian nobleman in 1556, she received the statue from her mother as a wedding gift. When her daughter Polyxena of Lobkowicz was widowed, she gave the precious statue to the monastery of the Discalced Carmelites attached to the church of Our Lady of Victory in 1628.

PADRE PIO Stigmatic Priest

Padre Pio of Pietrelcina was a humble Capuchin priest who bore the wounds of Christ for fifty years. Not only was he known for his stigmata, his other gifts include odor of sanctity, reading of souls, bilocation, prophecy, conversion, miraculous cures and transverberation. He had many crosses to bear during his lifetime. He had poor health, the devil tormented him both spiritually and physically and the Church and many critics persecuted him. He was also subject to numerous investigations and at one point was even forbidden to publicly perform his priestly duties.

ST. BENEDICT Patron Saint of Europe, students, against poison, witchcraft and temptations

St. Benedict, blessed by God both in grace and in name, Patriarch of Western Monasticism, and founder of the Order which bear his name, was born in Nursia, Italy, in 480 and died in 547. As the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ was chief object of devotion among the first Christians, so was it also with St. Benedict. It was this devotion to the Cross, the sign of our redemption, that gave rise to the Medal of St. Benedict, for devotion to the sign of our salvation. The Saint often employed the sign of the Cross to work miracles and to overcome the devil and his temptations. Hence from the earliest centuries after his death he represented bearing the Cross of Christ and the Holy Rule.

Daily Prayer
Glorious St. Benedict who taught us the way to perfection by the practice of mortification, humility, obedience, prayer, silence, and detachment from the world, I kneel at your feet and humbly beg you to take my present needs under your special protection (here make your request). Recommend it to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and lay it before the throne of Jesus. Cease not to intercede for me until my request is granted. Above all, obtain for me the grace to meet God face to face with you, Mary, and all the angels and saints to praise him through all eternity. O most powerful St. Benedict, do not let me lose my soul, but obtain for me the grace of winning my way to heaven and there worship and enjoy the most holy and adorable Trinity forever and ever. Amen.

First Day
You spent your early days in the university studying to be someone in the world, but all these you left behind, inspired by the Holy Spirit, to seek solitude in the mountains of Subiaco, Italy. You lived in a cave and survived by eating root crops and other food available in those mountains. You searched for God and God also found you. Inspire us, dear saint, to understand that God is within us and we can only encounter him in the silence of our hearts. Make us aware that the noise within us keeps us away from God—the noise of our ambitions, love for money, and honor. Wherever we are we can silence this noise. Help us, dear saint, to obtain silence within us. Amen.
Daily Prayer
(3) Our Father, (3) Hail Mary, (3) Glory Be
St. Benedict, pray for us.

Second day
You attracted followers to whom you gave a rule known for its moderation. You, St. Benedict, became a father to many monasteries and monks through this rule where you emphasized that the monastery is for people who want to change their bad habits into good. Make us aware of our bad habits and inspire us not to be comfortable with them. Our bad habits, dear saint, will keep us away from Jesus and engrained in us the power of sin. O dear St. Benedict, help us that we may work for the transformation of our bad habits. Amen.
Daily Prayer
(3) Our Father, (3) Hail Mary, (3) Glory Be
St. Benedict, pray for us.

Third Day
O dear St. Benedict, because of your work as a father in the monasteries, certain evil people wanted to poison you. You did not want to compromise the monastic ideals of silence and mortification; yet to their amazement, you drunk their poison and nothing happened to you. Jesus protected you. We live in a world today that is heavily poisoned by pollution and degradation of our forests and seas. Make us sensitive to the presence of these poisons and give us the wisdom not to be blinded by progress and easy money. Inspire us to contribute our part in making our world a better place to live in. Amen.
Daily Prayer
(3) Our Father, (3) Hail Mary, (3) Glory Be
St. Benedict, pray for us.

Fourth Day
O dear St. Benedict, you understood prayer as basking in God’s presence, experiencing his loving hands in our day to day struggles. While you worked in the fields, your heart sang hymns to your creator and you offered him a constant prayer of thanksgiving. May we imitate you in your unending prayer to the most High; wherever we go and whatever we do, may we remember Jesus and offer him our thanksgiving. Amen.

Daily Prayer
(3) Our Father, (3) Hail Mary, (3) Glory Be
St. Benedict, pray for us.

Fifth Day
O dear St. Benedict, despite your material poverty, you were always mindful of the poor and the needy. From the little produce of your monastery, you happily shared something for the poor who knocked daily at your door. Through you, the hungry had always their fill. May we learn from your charity and open our doors to those unprivileged. Inspire us to understand that our faith’s best expression is the help we extend to the needy. Amen.
Daily Prayer
(3) Our Father, (3) Hail Mary, (3) Glory Be
St. Benedict, pray for us.

Sixth Day
O dear St. Benedict, you showed us that if we want to be close to God, we must be able to discipline ourselves. You taught your disciples how to mortify their senses, control their passions, and thoughts so that Jesus can live in their hearts and minds. You emphasized that sanctification begins in our minds when we are able to distinguish the impure thoughts that lead us to sin. We ask your help, St. Benedict, that we may always be able to stop these deadly thoughts from influencing us, that we may not entertain them. Lead us to purification of mind and heart. Amen.
Daily Prayer
(3) Our Father, (3) Hail Mary, (3) Glory Be
St. Benedict, pray for us.

Seventh Day
O dear St. Benedict, you taught your followers to welcome visitors as if they were Christ in his person. Your rule of hospitality enabled you to treat with respect strangers and offer for them the warmth of your welcome. Teach us to be welcoming in our homes, to treat our guests with respect, and enable them to feel the warmth of Christ’s embrace. Teach us to develop a listening ear that our guests and visitors may easily feel that we are authentically interested in their welfare and well-being. Make our homes a place where the sorrowful may encounter relief of their sufferings. Amen.
Daily Prayer
(3) Our Father, (3) Hail Mary, (3) Glory Be
St. Benedict, pray for us.

Eighth Day
O dear St. Benedict, for you the highest kind of prayer is when you kneel in silence and uttering just one word, you come into contact with Jesus himself. You established monasteries that they may become the birthplace of contemplatives, people who in silence utter your name and experience your presence in their hearts. Teach us this kind of prayer, when your presence becomes everything. Enable us to be contemplatives, who put our utter trust in Jesus and who really believe that God’s Kingdom is already in our midst. Amen.
Daily Prayer
(3) Our Father, (3) Hail Mary, (3) Glory Be
St. Benedict, pray for us.

Ninth Day
O dear St. Benedict, you taught your followers to stand always in awe and wonder at creation. Help us that we may not lose this sense of wonder that in everything we do, we may always give thanks to God. Let not the tragedies and sorrows of this life make us pessimist and dry; allow us to discover that all problems are challenges and that the future is always bright and promising despite the sad things we see around us. Give us the energy to work hard so that God’s will may be implanted in our homes and society. Amen.
Daily Prayer
(3) Our Father, (3) Hail Mary, (3) Glory BeSt. Benedict, pray for us.

Holy Cross be my light and never should satan be my chief! Get behind me satan!...are evil the drinks you pour me. Drink yourself your own poison. In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit Amen.

The Medal of St. Benedict is a very effective way to ward off evil spirits and witchcraft. It can also be used for extraordinary favors by praying the novena or triduum, making each day the Way of the Cross, or reciting 5 Our Fathers and Hail Mary's in honor of the Five Wounds of Our Lord, and saying some prayers in honor of St. Benedict. In time of temptation, it is advisable to hold the Medal in one's hand, kiss it reverently and make use of the ejaculatory prayers on the Medal.
