ACT OF CONSECRATION OF THE HUMAN RACE TO THE SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS by Pope Pius XI

Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us, humbly prostrate before Thine altar.
We are Thine and Thine we wish to be; but to be more surely united with Thee, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to Thy Most Sacred Heart.
Many, indeed, have never known Thee; many, too, despising Thy precepts, have rejected Thee.
Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Thy Sacred Heart.
Be Thou King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken Thee, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned Thee, grant that they may quickly return to their Father's house, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.
Be Thou King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof and call them back to the harbour of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one shepherd.
Be Thou King of all those who even now sit in the shadow of idolatry or Islam, and refuse not Thou to bring them into the light of Thy kingdom. Look, finally, with eyes of pity upon the children of that race, which was for so long a time Thy chosen people; and let Thy Blood, which was once invoked upon them in vengeance, now descend upon them also in a cleansing flood of redemption and eternal life.
Grant, O Lord, to Thy Church, assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation: to it be glory and honour forever. Amen.

CONSECRATION OF THE FAMILY TO THE SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY

Most holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, united in perfect love, as you look upon us with mercy and caring, we consecrate our hearts, our lives, our family to you. We know the beautiful example of your home in Nazareth was meant to be a model for each of our families. We hope to have, with your help, the unity and strong, enduring love you gave to one another. May our home be filled with joy. May sincere affection, patience, tolerance and mutual respect be freely given to all. May our prayers be filled with the needs of others, not just ourselves and may we always be close to your sacraments. Bless those who are present, as well as those who are absent, both the living and the dead; may peace be among us and when we are tested, grant us the Christian acceptance of God's will. Keep our family close to your Hearts; may your special protection be with us always. Most Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, hear our prayer. Amen.

ACT OF CONSECRATION TO THE SACRED HEART by St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, to Thee I consecrate and offer up my person and my life, my actions, trials, and sufferings, that my entire being may henceforth only be employed in loving, honoring and glorifying Thee. This is my irrevocable will, to belong entirely to Thee, and to do all for Thy love, renouncing with my whole heart all that can displease Thee.
I take Thee, O Sacred Heart, for the sole object of my love, the protection of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my frailty and inconstancy, the reparation for all the defects of my life, and my secure refuge at the hour of my death. Be Thou, O Most Merciful Heart, my justification before God Thy Father, and screen me from His anger which I have so justly merited. I fear all from my own weakness and malice, but placing my entire confidence in Thee, O Heart of Love, I hope all from Thine infinite Goodness. Annihilate in me all that can displease or resist Thee. Imprint Thy pure love so deeply in my heart that I may never forget Thee or be separated from Thee.
I beseech Thee, through Thine infinite Goodness, grant that my name be engraved upon Thy Heart, for in this I place all my happiness and all my glory, to live and to die as one of Thy devoted servants. Amen.

NOVENA OF SURRENDER TO THE WILL OF GOD by Father Don Dolindo Ruotolo

Day 1

Why do you confuse yourselves by worrying?
Leave the care of your affairs to me
and everything will be peaceful.
I say to you in truth that every act of true,
blind, complete surrender to me
produces the effect that you desire
and resolves all difficult situations.

Repeat 10 times...

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you,
take care of everything!

Mother, I am yours now and forever.
Through you and with you
I always want to belong completely to Jesus.

Prayer for the Outpouring of Charisms of the HOLY SPIRIT

God Holy Spirit, in our lives in this world, we stand in great need of Your charisms. By these, Your gifts, You enable us to make a real contribution to the lives of others, in the Church, in our society in our personal interaction with one another. For all these charismsare to be used for the benefit of others. Since You have called us to your service, we pray for those gifts which Paul, the apostle of Christ, wished for his community.

Give to us, for our nation, for our church, the gift of WISDOM: Help us to speak the word by which we discover Christ crucified and You, too, in the midst of troubles, trials and difficulties;

Grant us the gift of KNOWLEDGE: Make us understand what really matters in human life; breathe in us, Holy Spirit,that our thoughts may all be holy. May we never depart from the truth;

Give us the gift of FAITH: Fill us with loyalty to You and with such trust that we  can move mountains;

PRAYERS TAUGHT BY JESUS TO ST. FAUSTINA

Prayer to the Holy Trinity

O Holy Trinity, Eternal God, I thank you for allowing me to know the greatness and the various degrees of glory to which souls attain...O Lord, immerse my soul in the ocean of Your divinity and grant me the grace of knowing You; for the better I know You, the more I desire You, and the more my love for You grows. PRAYER TO BE MERCIFUL

Lord, may the greatest of all Divine attributes, that of Your unfathomable Mercy, pass through my heart and soul to my neighbour.
Help me, O Lord, that my eyes may be merciful, so that I may never suspect or judge from appearances, but always look for what is beautiful in my neighbour’s souls and come to their  rescue.
Help me, that my ears may be merciful, so that I may give heed to my neighbour’s needs, and not be indifferent to their pains and moanings.
Help me, O Lord, that my tongue may be merciful, so that I should never speak negatively of others, but have a word of comfort and forgiveness for all.
Help me, O Lord, that my hands may be merciful and filled with good deeds, so that I may do only good to my neighbours and always try to take upon myself the more difficult and toilsome tasks.
Help me, O Lord, that my feet may be merciful, so that I may hurry to assist my neighbour, overcoming my own fatigue and weariness. My true rest is in the service of my neighbour.
Help me, O Lord, that my heart may be merciful, so that I myself may feel all the sufferings of my neighbour. I will refuse my heart to no one. I will be sincere even with those who, I know, will abuse my kindness. And I will lock myself up in the most merciful Heart of Jesus. I will bear my own suffering in silence.

May your mercy, O Lord, rest upon me. (Diary 163)

PRAYER FOR CONVERSION

Jesus gave this powerful prayer to St. Faustina when He said, "I desire that you know more profoundly the love that burns in My Heart for souls, and you will understand this when you meditate upon My Passion...When you say this prayer, with a contrite heart and with faith on behalf of some sinner, I will give him the grace of conversion. This is the prayer:

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus, as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You." (Diary 186-187)

DIVINE MERCY NOVENA

The Divine Mercy novena began as a private devotion which Our Lord revealed to Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska. The words of the prayers were dictated by Christ Himself to Saint Faustina, and Saint Faustina recorded in her diary Our Lord’s instructions for each day’s prayer.

Christ asked Saint Faustina to recite the novena starting on Good Friday and ending on Divine Mercy Sunday, the Octave of Easter (the Sunday after Easter Sunday). The novena can be recited at any time of the year, however, and it is often accompanied by the Divine Mercy Chaplet, which Our Lord also revealed to Saint Faustina.

PRAYER TO ST. RAPHAEL FOR PURITY

St. Raphael, Patron Angel of Youth, I beg you to plead with God for me, that I may always keep my life pure and holy. As thou didst guard the young Tobias from dangers of soul and body on his journey to a strange land, protect me from the many dangers that confront me in my life. Strengthen me in my struggle against the temptations of the world, the flesh, and the devil.

I pray and beg of Thee, glorious Saint Raphael, to be my Patron Angel of Purity. For thy great love for Jesus, the King of Angels and for Mary, the Queen of the Angels, deign to keep me from all uncleanness and to obtain that my mind may be untainted, my heart pure, and my body chaste. May I frequently receive the “Bread of Angels” in Holy Communion , that it may be an effective remedy and protection against the temptations that press round about me, and seal my heart forever against the suggestions of sinful pleasures. Help me always to serve Jesus and Mary in perfect chastity, so that one day I may merit to belong to those of whom Jesus spoke when He said, “Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God.” Amen.

INTERCESSORY ARMY OF GOD

This is a different kind of army.  With our Faith as our shield, and our prayers being our weapons, we become a living prayer.

Reminder of what to do to be a part of this army:

1. Now, and then everyday when you wake up in the morning, say a cleansing prayer (for the cleansing prayer I use, please see below) and then consecrate yourself, your family, and your home to the
"Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, The Immaculate Heart of Mary, and to God, the Eternal Father of Heaven and earth."
2. Offer yourself each day as a warrior in the Army Of God and ask the Lord Jesus to lead you with His light as you move in the world.  Then believe that He is guiding you, and that what you are doing is what He wants you to be doing.  Ask for clarity and discernment to know what is not His will, as well.
3. Offer your day as a prayer; all the good, the bad, the pain and suffering, the joy and happiness, the success, the failures and everything that comes from this day becomes a solid prayer.
4. Then, even when you put your head down at night to sleep, your guardian angel will continue the work.

ST. FRANCIS DE SALES, BISHOP, DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH, 1567-1622

God gave Francis to His Church at the very time that heresy was presenting her to the world as a worn-out system, that had no influence over men’s minds. God raised up this true minister of the Gospel in the very country where the harsh doctrines of Calvin were most in vogue, that the ardent charity of Francis might counteract the sad influence of that heresy. If you want heretics to be convinced of their errors, said the learned Cardinal Du Perron, you may send them to me; but if you want them to be converted, send them to the Bishop of Geneva.

Francis was born in France in 1567; at his baptism he was named Francis Bonaventura, after two great Franciscan saints. His father was the Seigneur de Nouvelles, an aristocrat, and his mother was the only child of a noble family who brought as her dowry the Signory of Boisy.

Francis went to the University of Padua and earned doctorates in law and in theology, earning the title “Doctor” at age 24. His father had great plans for his son and objected to his desire to be a priest. However, at the intervention of Claude de Garnier, then Bishop of Geneva, he finally gave his consent and allowed Francis to seek ordination. Francis was appointed provost of the cathedral chapter of Geneva in 1593 and was ordained a priest at 26.

Francis engaged in enthusiastic campaigns of evangelism among the Protestants of Savoy. He was rejected, stoned, and chased by wolves. So the ever-patient Francis wrote his sermons, copied them by hand, and slipped them under the doors. This is the first we hear of religious tracts being used to reach people.
When Bishop Granier died in 1602, Francis was consecrated Bishop of Geneva. Francis, the living image of Jesus, opened his arms and called sinners to repentance, the victims of heresy to truth, the just to perfection, and all men to confidence and love. He is distinguished by the sweetness of his virtues, the childlike simplicity of his heart, the humility and tenderness of his love, and his spellbinding preaching. The glorious luster of his conquests are upon him – seventy two thousand heretics converted to the Church by the ardor of his charity; an order of holy servants of God, which he founded; and countless thousands of souls trained to piety by his prudent and persuasive words and writings.

He wrote Introduction to the Devote Life to instruct lay people on Catholic spirituality. On the Holy Souls he presents that they are in a continual union with God. They wish to be in the state wherein God pleases, and as long as it shall please Him. Purgatory, he says, is a species of Hell as regards the suffering; it is Paradise as regards the delight infused into their hearts by Charity – Charity, stronger than death and more powerful than Hell; Charity whose lamps are all fire and flame (Canticle). “Happy state!” continues the Bishop, “more desirable than appalling, since its flames are flames of love and charity.” (Esprit de St. Francis de Sales, ch. 9, p. 16)

He strongly encourages Christian almsgiving, that mercy which Jesus recommends so much in the Gospel: all the good we do for our neighbor by working for his salvation, supporting his defects, and pardoning his offences. All these works of charity may be offered to God for the dead, and contain great satisfactory virtue.

St. Francis says: “To assist the souls in Purgatory is to perform the most excellent of the works of Mercy, or to practice in a most sublime manner all the works of Mercy together: it is to visit the sick, it is to give drink to those who thirst for the vision of God: it is to feed the hungry, to ransom prisoners, to clothe the naked, to procure for poor exiles the hospitality of the Heavenly Jerusalem; it is to comfort the afflicted, to instruct the ignorant – in fine, to practice all works of Mercy in one. Our LORD considers every work of Mercy exercised towards our neighbor as done to Himself. “It is to Me that you have done it.” – Mihi fecistis. This is especially true of Mercy practiced towards the poor souls.

St. Francis died on December 12, 1622 in Lyons and was buried on 24 January 1623 in the church of the Monastery of the Visitation in Annecy, which he had founded with St. Jane Frances de Chantal, who is also buried there.

PRAYER TO CHRIST IN HIS PASSION AND DEATH

Hail, most sweet Jesus! Praise, honor, and glory be to You, O Christ, who of Your own accord embraced death, and, recommending Yourself to Your heavenly Father, bowing down Your venerable head, yielded up Your Spirit, truly thus giving up Your life for Your sheep, You have shown Yourself to be a good shepherd.
You died, O only-begotten Son of God. You died, O my beloved Savior, that I might live forever. O how great hope,
how great confidence have I reposed in Your death and Your Blood! I glorify and praise Your Holy Name. Acknowledging my infinite obligations to You. O good Jesus, by Your bitter death and Passion, give me grace and pardon, give unto the faithful departed rest and life everlasting. Amen.

FEAST OF THE ARCHANGELS - September 29

Angels were created as messengers of God. The Scriptures reveal that God created nine orders of angels: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominations, Principalities, Powers, Virtues, Archangels, and Angels. The Archangels are the leaders, highest in rank. Today, September 29th, is the Feast day of the Archangels and the most popular of them are Michael, Raphael, Gabriel and Uriel.
